Nayp Photography - introducing

Natalie Ypma (1976) completed her study at the Academy of Art in Maastricht in 1998. She became an artist whose work has its unique identity and style. During the years, photography became one of her favourite ways to capture her views and express her all-round creativity. Although she experiments gladly, her style can easily be recognized.

In her pictures she uses strong coulours and compositions, contrasting patterns and makes details come alive.
In contrast with the pureness of some of het portraits she also likes to bring a supernatural effect to her pictures. This manifests itself in subtle photo-editing, which is likely to alienate the viewer. These pictures will never be plain, on the contrary, there is always something that draws your attention.
Nevertheless, spontaneity and pureness will always be the ruling aspects in Natalie’s work. Therefore she loves working in different environments, with natural light, and she sees no challenge in studio photography. She likes to cooperate with the circumstances that appear on location. She uses the available stage, challenges the moment, and tries to capture it. She's a photographer who prefers to avoid the photostudio; the artificial light and stage.
